Dromedary race at Chinguetti festival 2015

The 2CV of the club Caravan Petrol have reached Chinguetti, after a trip in the Adrar. After having made some raids in Libya, Algeria and Morocco, the 2CV has arrived in Mauritania. A hard and binding trip that has not leastly notched their enthusiasm and passion for the Sahara. They have caught the train to Nouadibou up to Choum, so Atar, Chinguetti (pleasant guests of the Maison Ouarane), Ouadane, Guel El Richat, the oases of the Adrar, then the Banc of Arguein. Finally to the border of Morocco to Tangeri for the ferry to Italy.

The technical support has been furnished by the friend Fabrizio Rovella of Saharamonamour, that has opened an Agency at Chinguetti in 2014.

From 3 to January 10 th 2015, is held in Chinguetti the Festival of the Ancient cities.

Chinguetti, together with Ouadane, Tichitt and Oualata, belongs to the group of the four ancient cities of Mauritania and, to rotation, every year one of these cities are center of the Festival, an occasion to see the great run of the dromedaries on the Batha, exposure of handicraft products and to assist to traditional musical shows.
